Around this time last year we let you know about some changes we were making to our kids and youth environments. We had been so encouraged to see the quality of our kids and youth environments grow and develop, watching our Under 18s grow in their Kingdom identity and authority and we wanted to make room for more! So, in September 2018, we revisited our kids and youth environments and made some changes so that we could ensure we are loving with excellence, while creating room for guests.
We also wanted to set a date each year when kids who had reached the age for their next environments would all move up at the same time; this special Sunday is just around the corner! This year on Sunday 25th August, the teams in our kids’ environments will hold a mini graduation for the kids in each group who will be moving up to their next environment. That Sunday will also be a party morning for all under-18s as we celebrate an amazing summer of fun and say ‘so long’ to the summer holidays!
The following Sunday, 1st September, the kids who will be moving to their new environment will begin with that new group. Below is an overview of all of our environments to remind you which room your child will be moving into, if applicable. Each of the environments has a team of leaders as well as a room leader who will always let you know if your child is upset or uneasy at any point throughout the morning.
We know that one of the biggest jumps is the move up for P7s from our kids’ environments into our youth environments. We want to make that transition as smooth as possible and so on Sunday 1st September there will be a great team from our youth environments who will be readily available to ensure that transition is an easy one!
Below is an overview of each of the Kids and Youth environments on a Sunday morning. If you have questions at any point, we would love to chat to you! Myself, Ellen and Peter are all available to chat through any queries or concerns you may have.
If you’re planning on visiting on either of these Sundays we would love to welcome you along and if you haven’t been before you can also pre-register your kids via this link to speed up the process!
We can’t wait for this next term in our Vineyard Stars Kids environments and Youth environments! We hope to see you soon!
Under 5s Pastor
Kids | Vineyard Stars (U11s)
Birth – 1yr | Board Room
This environment is for parents and their babies. Parents/guardians will stay with their little ones, who will have space to move, crawl and enjoy stimulating play. The service is streamed into this environment and there is tea, coffee and treats for parents to enjoy!
1 – 2yrs | Green Room
This room is for babies who are one up until they turn two. This bright and engaging room has lots of space to move and play. Parents/guardians are welcome to stay with their little ones, however it is not necessary that they do as this room will be run by a team of amazing kids’ leaders.
2 yrs – Pre-School | Pink Room
This environment is for children once they turn two, until they begin their pre-school year of nursery. This is a fun and interactive room of play, games and story time.
Pre-School Age | Lime Room
This environment is for children in their pre-school year. Our team of leaders roll out a vibrant and exciting curriculum, with space for kids to run, play, worship and engage in activities suited to their age and stage.
P1 – P2 | Blue Room
This room is for children who are in their first two years of primary school. There is structured play and space for children to encounter Jesus through vibrant worship, teaching, praying for one another and learning to hear God’s voice.
P3 – P4 | Orange Room
This room is for children in P3 & P4. This is a great space for kids to play, engage in challenges and activities, as well as getting to know Jesus more through teaching worship and discussion.
P5 | Hope Centre
This environment is specifically for our P5s with activities, games, worship, stories and a discussion time relevant for this particular school year. High-5 Stars has a different feel to Allstars as we recognise there is a developmental jump that occurs for children of this age group.
P6 – P7 | Hope Centre
This room is for children who are in their last two years of primary school. We feel it’s important for children in P6 & P7 to be in the same environment because of the unique stage they are at together at school. There are games, worship and a story with topics relevant to these school years as they prepare to move on to secondary school.
Meeting Room 2
This environment is for any child who has any additional needs or is struggling in their age-specific room. We are so excited to be able to offer this space as we want every child to be able to enjoy their time in Vineyard Stars. There is an incredible team who lead in this environment who have received additional training in this specific area. This team also, like in our other rooms, roll out a Jesus-centred curriculum with worship, stories and play-based learning. In some cases, if a child has physical or additional needs that are beyond our capacity or training, parents may be asked to remain in this room.
Signing in your Kids
Sign-in for all of these environments will be open in the Kids Foyer from 9.15 – 9.45am & 11.15 – 11.45am. If your child is moving up a group the sign-in team will also help direct you as to which environment that will be.
If it’s your first time with us, one of our Newcomer’s team, located in the main foyer, would love to help guide you through the registration process and show you to the environments.
Year 8 & 9 | Hope Centre
This environment is fun and games oriented and is a safe place to practice the lifestyle of the kingdom together.
Year 10 & 11 | Hope Centre
This environment is filled with discussion around different themes and practicing stepping out in kingdom risks.
Year 12 | Hope Centre
