Congratulations - since you’re reading this, you’ve probably met someone special, have grown to love him or her and chosen to marry one another. Deciding to get married is one of the most important life decisions you will ever make. The pastors at Vineyard are able to perform wedding ceremonies for couples wishing to marry; this is usually done at the venue of the couple’s choice. Our pastoral staff desire to give you the most valuable wedding present they can - a loving, lasting investment in your relationship. Since we strongly believe in helping couples prepare well for marriage, we require all couples wishing to be married by a Vineyard pastor to complete our pre-marriage course. If you are interested in beginning a conversation about marriage at Vineyard, please contact the office.
The birth of a child is an incredibly special event, and one that we love to celebrate here at Vineyard. We love to honour parents who are doing all they can to follow Jesus and raise their children for his glory. So we often make space for them to dedicate their child to the Lord as part of our Sunday service. It’s a time to honour and pray for the parents and the child, a time for the parents to say thank you to God for the precious gift they have been given, and a time for the parents to promise before the Lord and the community of the church that they will raise their child to know and love Jesus. If you would like more information on baby dedications or would like to schedule one, please contact us.
If you have recently become a Christian or have never had a chance to get baptised then we would love to encourage you to do so – at our Beach Baptism! If you have already, come along and be a part of the whole experience. These Sundays are some of our favourite times together and this year will be no exception. After our services at church, where we will hear stories from people getting baptised, we will all make our way down to Portstewart Strand for the Baptisms. It’s such a joy to pray for each other on the strand before watching the participants “take the plunge” in the Atlantic Ocean. To celebrate, we will have a BBQ together with lots of games for the kids (and adults if they wish) before heading home and washing the sand out of our toes!
