What is it?
Since 2001 Vineyard Compassion has sought to live out passages such as Isaiah 58 & 61. We fulfil this biblical mandate to serve the poor by providing practical support for those in need, whilst empowering them to tackle the root causes of poverty. Essentially supporting the vulnerable ‘from crisis, to full potential’.

It's been a journey that has taught us much and given us so much more to learn. We can’t do everything as a church, but we can do something! In these Compassion Sessions our desire is to share our journey of how God has led us to ‘do something’ – unpacking our thinking and practise in how we seek to provide hope and a solution to local poverty. We want to honestly and vulnerably share what has worked, what really hasn’t and what our heart is for the future ahead.

These sessions are designed for church or charity leaders and their teams who have a desire to tackle poverty and social need. Through both the sessions on offer and engagement with others attending from a number of different contexts, we hope this day will help us all to better follow Jesus’ call to serve the communities where we are located. Our Vineyard Compassion staff team will be available throughout the time and are available for any questions you may have on a wide range of issues.

Why are we doing this?
At the moment, we have a significant number of requests for people to visit the Hope Centre, to see around the Vineyard Compassion projects and spend time with our staff. Sadly, we are unable to say 'Yes' to everyone. Additionally, we cannot guarantee our team will always be here. Through hosting these times together, we ensure that you hear from all our team.

When is the next Leadership Sessions?
We are hosting the next Compassion Sessions on Wednesday 11th September 2019.

What will it look like?
The time runs from 9am until 3pm. It is filled with different sessions, a guided tour of the Hope Centre and project facilities and opportunities for Q&A with different project leaders.

Some of the topics which we will seek to cover in the sessions are;

- Vineyard Compassion journey & context
- Kingdom mandate for tackling poverty
- Keeping a faith-based ethos within a secular environment
- Creating & sustaining partnerships across the city
- Releasing volunteers to provide hope and a solution to local poverty
- Role of the supernatural, evangelism & prayer within Compassion Ministry
- Creating, sustaining & developing Social Enterprises
- Developing various sustainable income streams
- How to avoid compassion fatigue
- Overview of Compassion projects, including Open Door drop-in, RESET: Social Supermarket, Link (supported volunteering work programme)

Who is this for?
This is for Ministry/Project leaders and their teams, particularly those involved in Compassion ministry. We want these times to be interactive and marked with impartation, which is why spaces are limited.

What is the cost?
The cost for the one-day Compassion Sessions is £35 per person (including lunch). A group discount applies to teams of four or more - buy four tickets and bring an additional team member free of charge.

Interested in attending both Sessions? Register for both Leadership Sessions and Compassion Sessions and save - buy one ‘all Sessions’ ticket (three days) for £100 per person.

How do I book and pay?
Click the register button which will lead you to the booking form. Once we check that there is available space, we will send a confirmation and invoice to you.
