"The Wedding Fayre" at Hope and Gloria

So what do a bunch of women do when they begin to ask God what to do with a string of beautiful vintage and modern wedding dresses that are donated one after the other to Hope and Gloria? They throw a party of course!

That's right. The gals at Hope and Gloria, who have it always on their mind that the shop is there to be a blessing and a source of hope and light for our community, decided to put on the shop's very first Wedding Fayre. They found out that wedding vendors usually have to pay a lot to be a part of wedding fayres, so they decided to bless our local wedding businesses by inviting them to come for free and put on a wedding fayre that celebrates them and all of our local brides-to-be. Since they love to give money to the Hope and Gloria Charities (Vineyard Compassion, Sports Academy and the E3 initiative), they will also be putting on a raffle with great prizes and selling some drinks and nibbles on the night all for the charities.

As for the events of the night...the gals have planned some fun! A bridal fashion show, first dance demos, a dj and live music too. They will also be launching the new hairdressing salon, "Hairdressing at Hope and Gloria" with hairdressers Michelle Kelly and Michelle Hynds, so it will be an Open House of the new salon that night with hair consultations and also make up consultations for brides with Sandra Millican at "Beauty at Hope and Gloria." Hope and Gloria is getting set for yet another community charity event that shines joy, life and generosity to our community. We love that it's an event that not only honours love and marriage but also celebrates local businesses and local couple planning their big wedding day! Whether you are a bride or not...everyone is invited to come to celebrate with us!

Here's the press release that is going out all over the county about it...spread the word!

Calling all Brides-to-be! And anyone who enjoys a fantastic evening out!
The Hope and Gloria Emporium is putting on a charity event to celebrate brides-to-be and wedding vendors from across the wedding industry.
Their very first Wedding Fayre takes place from 7pm- 9pm on Thursday the 25th September at the Hope and Gloria Emporium. The Wedding Fayre will be a great night of fun with a fashion show demonstrating some iconic styles from the past 60 years or more, First Dance Demonstrations, Hair and Beauty Consultations, the OPEN HOUSE of our new Hair Salon, Live Music, a great raffle, prizes, drinks and nibbles too. With free entry for all it’s a great opportunity to plan your whole wedding at the "one-stop feel good" shop!

There will also be vintage and modern wedding dresses on sale at the event. Rachel Blair, Manager of the Hope and Gloria Emporium said, “We have been donated a number of gorgeous vintage wedding dresses over the last few months and thought it was about time we put on a party to celebrate them! And it gives us a chance to celebrate the quality and excellence of local wedding vendors too!”
As well as the dresses on offer, there will be a live ‘first dance’ demonstration from Stepping Out Dance Company, with Beatz Entertainment rolling out the fun and glitz that they can offer to weddings. Red Carpet Cars will be there to lead you in to the shop where Bride and Room’s room dressings are exquisitely displayed. Vintage Style Emporium will be on hand to fulfil your vintage prop dreams while Contemporary Cakes and the Stables Flower Co are bringing a selection of their best to impress us all. Paula Pullman Photography and Missing Piece Studios can offer examples of beautiful Wedding Photography and the perfect Wedding Video as Les Magee treats us to the soothing tones of the harp throughout the night.

Tori Sheppard, Director of Women’s Ministry at Causeway Coast Vineyard, says of the night “We wanted to run an event in true Hope and Gloria style – something to celebrate our love of a great time that could also be a support to local businesses. At the end of the day Hope and Gloria exists to be a blessing to our community. We love to put on events that spread joy and life, so we’re looking forward to an amazing night!”

“We’re also especially excited to launch our wonderful new Hair Salon at the event!” Tori adds. “It will be an Open House for Hairdressing at Hope and Gloria giving the opportunity to pop in and see the new salon.” The stylists, Michelle Kelly and Michelle Hynds will be there on the night giving hair consultations while Sandra Millican from Beauty at Hope and Gloria will offer make up advice for your big day. Hope and Gloria will also be offering custom party packages that include our tea-party café, craft workshop, hair and beauty treatments.

The organisers are excited to offer a raffle on the night. The prizes will be contributed by the vendors with all proceeds going to charity. Rachel Blair says “This is an opportunity for us to raise funds for the causes that are so close to our hearts.” The charities supported by Hope and Gloria include the local work of Vineyard Compassion, and two African charities, E3 Initiative and Sports Academy.

If you have any Wedding clothes or accessories you would like to donate to the charities, donations can be dropped off directly into the Hope and Gloria Emporium.
