Ever wondered what would happen if you took just one year of your life and gave it unreservedly to God? We would like to invite you to invest that year with us and partner us in changing our community. We are looking for at least 2 young people to 'give a year of their lives' to moving the mission forward here at the Causeway Coast Vineyard, Northern Ireland from September 2008 to July 2009.
Who are we looking for: You will be a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, a team player with definite leadership potential. The placement on staff will last for one year and be entitled 'Staff Assistant'.
Self Financing: The Staff Assistants will need to work out in advance some form of ongoing financial support to cover their entire living expenses for the year, taking responsibility for meeting their own practical needs. This could be from personal savings or from ongoing support through their local church or small group. There is no remuneration with the post.
Key components:
Service: practical and manual tasks including cleaning, and a regular commitment to a weekend support ministry each month.
Administration: helping pastoral and administrative staff and volunteers.
Ministry Placement: being assigned to a specific pastor for the year to serve in a chosen area of ministry, gain varying ministry experiences.
Project: a specific project undertaken while leading a Causeway Coast Vineyard ministry area over the year.
Training: taking advantage of the various training opportunities offered, including attending staff training, combined staff meetings and leaders' meetings at CCV. The Pastor overseeing your Ministry Placement will give you self-directed learning assignments as suited to the ministry in question. (You may also have the opportunity to take certain modules available from Vineyard Bible Institute.
(Staff Assistants will be expected to help at all events where financial assistance has been given).
Each Staff Assistant will be assigned to their supervising pastor, who will be responsible for the oversight of their work within their Ministry Placement. We believe that this 'on the job' training opportunity will provide a firm basis for development of character and gifting whilst demonstrating a servant heart, within the safe environment of our growing staff team.
Recruitment to this role will be by application, followed by interview. The prospective Staff Assistants will be given a copy of the Staff Assistant agreement to consider before a final decision is reached.
