Vineyard Car Boot Sale huge Success!

Last Saturday 21st July we launched our Vineyard Car Boot Sale, Farmers Market & Craft Fair on the new church site on Hillmans Way. With over 120 pitches and an estimated 400+ people on the site, the launch was a massive success raising around £1200 for Vineyard Compassion! The weather was fantastic and we were at capacity with our outdoor space and ran out of onsite parking early on, with cars lined up the length of Hillmans Way. We couldn’t believe how well the first event had taken off!
Feedback throughout the morning was very positive with members of the team hearing many times over: ‘This is the best car boot sale I’ve ever been to!’. We had a wide variety of stalls, from regular car boot sale items, to speciality crafts such as jewellery, hand carved wood items, ceramics etc… to plants and flowers… a fresh meat counter and amazing cup cakes and breads… there was something for everyone.
The atmosphere was incredible with a great sense of community as so many people were packed onto the site, enjoying hot food and a cup of coffee with live music in the background. Kids got to play on the bouncy castle and got their faces painted all for free. Many people were asking questions about the new church and the various Compassion projects that we were raising funds for. We were able to raise just under £1200 throughout the morning which exceeded our expectations and will help fund projects like our Christians Against Poverty Debt centre and our Sunday Food Giveaway!
